Further information
You can get the applications using Office 365, Home, Personal, Education E5 and Education Plus. For users without any Microsoft Office 365 subscription, the company adds a year of Office 365 Personal subscription when a new Surface Laptop is purchased. This subscription includes programs such as Access, Word, Excel, OneNote, PowerPoint, and Outlook.
At first only preview versions of MS Office apps are available in the Windows store as the new installation and updating procedure is still going through tests. As a result, certain unexpected errors might pop up in the initial days.
Even though a complete suite of Microsoft Office is given, there are a couple of shortcomings with applications provided in the Windows Store. The users can just install the 32-bit version, it does not support COM add-ins, and OneNote for desktop is not covered.
